Nine Days Old!

Well Bubba Finn is now 9 days old and on the mend from jaundice. It turns out we only needed to keep him in front of the great Florida sunshine and make sure he's pooping like crazy (which he certainly has not disappointed us on, just ask Daddy!). Anyways, I figure I'll close this update with some of the things we've learned from Finn which I'm breaking down into this likes and dislikes.
Likes: being swaddled, tha' booby, the scent of clean un-urinated clothes, explosive poo's on daddy, keeping hands near face, constantly touching his healing umbilical cord, leg lifts for those ripping ab muscles, making gremlin sounds, and turning himself around in the crib
Dislikes: peeing on himself, spongebaths, the pediatrician, bad movies, wet washclothes being applied to his naked body while mommy tries to wake him up for a feeding, being blown on while wet as another attempt by mommy to wake him up for a feeding, daddy's cold hands on his naked body when trying to wake him up for a feeding

1st Full Day Home

Well, this is Finn's first official first day home! He is adjusting great! He seems to love his crib and sleeps in it fantastically. He actually wants to sleep longer, but I have to wake him every 2-3 hours for a feeding. Breastfeeding is going well, each time it seems we make more progress. He does seem to have his prefrences though! Today he had his billirubens tested, b/c as we were leaving the hopsital he was a bit jaundice. Today his billi was a bit higher, and we just need to keep feeding him and sitting in front of a window. Tomorrow we are getting him re-tested and the Dr. will let me know where to go from there. The more he poops, the faster the billi's can get removed from his system. I'm crossing my fingers that he gets better and we can move past jaundice once and forever tomorrow! I will keep you posted! Finnlay & Family Update

We are doing great! Finn is such a fantastic baby, although he sleeps a lot!! (I can't really blame him after all he went through!). He has really bonded with us and I think he already knows that we are his Mummy and Daddy! He had his glamour shots at the hospital today and he posed his best Zoolander impersonations! We are having so much fun with him and can't wait to go home tomorrow and introduce him to his "life outside the womb". ~Much Hugs n Kisses!

Enter...Baby Finn!!!

Finnlay Jackson Canfield
7lbs. 3oz. 19.5 inches
After a visit to the Dr. on Friday, we were sent to the hospital to have a baby!! Suzanne was 6 cm's dilated and 100% effaced. Contractions were not frequent nor bad so this was the last thing we expected! Arrived at 12:30PM, got a room and waiting for the Anesthesiologist to get out of surgery to start an epidural and pitocen. My OBGYN broke my water at 1PM, and by 2PM I was getting my epidural and pitocen. By 4:45, I was at 10 cm's and it was go time. At 5:18 we saw our new baby boy bundle of joy...

Welcome Baby C in 2009!

Well it's official so we know that Baby C will be born in 2009 now! Had my appointment this week and my Dr. was SUPER busy, I think I had all of 2 minutes with her. I was on the NST machine for a good 45 minutes, I think in part b/c they forgot about me! Anyways, had some decent contractions and everything looked normal. I feel a little like I am dragging at work, and can't really wait to start my vacation with the baby! I hope it's sooner than later! Regardless since I'm officially full-term (37 weeks now) the Dr. will be checking on Tuesday! I hope something is progressing down there! We shall see, stay tuned! It would be pretty if Baby C was born on our 1 year anniversay! (1-11)
